Your car’s not truly clean until you’ve cleaned your engine compartment. Though it can be intimidating to open the hood and consider washing all these components, it’s actually quite simple to get your engine squeaky clean in Orchard Park, NY. To help you complete the process correctly, we at Robert Basil Buick GMC offer this basic guide for cleaning your car’s engine.

Before cleaning, you’ll want to let your engine cool and then disconnect the negative battery cable. Additionally, you should try and cover any vulnerable engine components with plastic. After that, you can spray the entire engine block with your favorite degreaser. Spray as much as you want, as you can’t use too much. Give the degreaser time to break down the dirt, scrubbing any dirt that isn’t loosened by the degreaser. Once that’s done, all you have to do is rinse your engine and wait for it to dry.
